Matthew Stewart a Sixteen Year Real Estate Professional Outstanding Service

To whom it may concern,

I am writing this letter on behalf of Mr. Matthew Stewart who is a business colleague, my personal Realtor and someone I am proud to consider a friend.  Recently Matthew informed me that he was faced with some legal challenges and voluntarily took me through the broader details of his case.  Knowing how devastated Matthew is and the seriousness of his case, I would like to take this opportunity to give my personal perspective and insight as to Matthew’s ethical and moral integrity as it relates to his entire career.

My association with Matthew began twelve years ago. We were attending a local business luncheon. Over the years I have had numerous occasions to witness his unwavering commitment to his client’s financial and real-estate needs.  Although he is well known for his outstanding customer service and reliability, he is most admired by his peers and associates for the way he has lead his personal and spiritual life.  More incredibly is the way his moral beliefs and convictions have seamlessly carried over into his professional career.

Matthew has been in the real-estate business for over sixteen years and successfully completed hundreds of transactions without a single complaint filed against him.  He has built a strong reputation within the local communities and is held in high esteem for his tireless efforts in local charity events, church outreach and mentoring programs, valuable mission trips and a host of prestigious professional affiliations.  Matthew’s entire criminal record could be boiled down to a few minor traffic violations and a parking ticket.  Anyone that truly knows Matthew Stuart understands that he would never knowingly break or violate any law.

Matthew has dedicated his entire professional career to being his best and doing what is right and honorable. He lives by a healthy moral code and has consistently exercised professional and ethical business practices over his sixteen year career in real-estate.  I’m asking as a friend and a father who is truly concerned for Matthew’s future, that you seriously consider the full scope of his professional and personal achievements when considering this case.

Respectfully yours,

Dr. Fleming

Matthew Stewart Reference Letter by Russ Knapp

To whom it may concern,

I’ve have known Matthew Stewart for several years and have come to both respect and admire him as a person and professional. Mr. Stewart is one of the hardest working and dedicated Realtors I’ve seen. He spends hours and hours on the phone negotiating with lenders to reduce the loan amounts on his clients so that they can get out from under huge loans on properties that are worth 50% or sometimes less than what they purchased them for. Many of these negotiations carry on for over a year.
Matthew is very involved in his church and is the golf coach at the local William Jessup College. The time he contributes to these organizations comes without a financial gain, but he is dedicated to making a positive change in the lives of those around him.

With the financial and personal challenges Matthew has faced since I’ve known him, I continue to be impressed with his fortitude and resolve. Matthew does not live an extravagant or frivolous lifestyle. In fact, with this difficult real estate market, Matthew has been renting a room from a friend of his in order to get out of debt and get his financial house in order.

Thank you for taking the time to consider Matthew’s character.

To whom it may concern:

I have known Matthew Stewart for 7 years as a Realtor, when Matthew became a client of bookkeeping service.

I can confirm that Matthew is a man of great integrity and good moral character. He is very dedicated and passionate to his work and family.

Matthew is one of my only clients that give charitable donations consistently to organizations. When I do his books and see the donations I think to myself how lucky that organization is to have someone like Matthew. I have witnessed Matthew work hard to make his business a success, with research and educational classes. When we meet sometimes I have to wait to talk to him because he is constantly on the phone doing his work. I have seen him have ups and downs, but know all the while knowing that Matthew would come out standing on his feet because he is a good business man and decent person.

Respectfully,

Tracy Julian

Character Reference Letter for Matthew Stewart February 23, 2012
To Whom It May Concern:
It is with a heavy heart, but a willing spirit, that I write this character reference letter for Matthew Stewart. I have known Matthew for four-and-a-half years, first meeting him in late summer of 2007, when he was hired by William Jessup University to serve as the Men’s Golf coach. I have served as the Director of Admission at WJU since June of 2005, but overall, I have served in higher education since 1987. Over those 25 years, I have had the privilege of working with hundreds of university professionals, external professional constituents and parents of prospective students. This extensive perspective affords me an extra measure of discernment as I consider Matthew for this letter.
Reflecting back over the years, Matthew’s hiring was a good professional decision, which has proven to benefit University growth because of his ability to recruit and field a competitive team, while leading those young men not only athletically, but more importantly spiritually and academically. His hiring had an even more important personal impact, for me and for my wife. As valuable as his work has been, his personal characteristics have been equally important to me and for me: sincere, diligent, caring, faithful and encouraging.
As alluded to earlier, my heart is heavy, as I write this, because it is unfathomable to me that Matthew’s intentions, while servicing his Real Estate clients, were anything but earnest trying to do what was in their best interest, while remaining within the bounds set for appropriate real Estate dealings. In his defense, however, through talking with dozens of other sellers, buyers and real Estate Agents, it did seem as though those “bounds” were quite vague, perhaps due to the shifting instability of the economy, housing market and requirements for selling and buying. I am aware that those of us writing letters on behalf of Matthew are unlikely knowledgeable enough to speak to the ins-and-outs of Real Estate law and regulations, but as for treatment, clarification of process, and dedication to us, in our case a short-sale, Matthew seemed to work with diligence, sincerity, faithfulness, and care, while constantly remaining encouraging and transparent.
Therefore, it is without reservation that I write this letter for Matthew Stewart. I would implore you to resist personal agenda and consider the man who has no apparent professional history of malicious unethical intent, as well as his demonstrated integrity to make proper adjustments in process to remain aboveboard, while doing what is in the best interest of those he represents. All said, we look forward to working with Matthew again when we are prepared to buy, if and when our economy recovers.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Vance Pascua

Matthew Stewart Real Estate – Letter of Character by Trent Chapman

To Whom It May Concern:

I am Trent Chapman, owner and founder of Short Sale Genius, a real estate training company.  I have known Matthew Stewart for the past 4 years.  I first met him when he attended one of our group trainings on short sale negotiations that was put on by our company Short Sale Genius.  Short Sale Genius is a national training company that has put on over 430 live trainings from coast to coast since 2007, training over 35,000 agents on how to negotiate short sales for the benefit of the seller.

The first thing I noticed when I met Matthew was his very positive and outgoing attitude and willingness to share and help others.

He has been a great student and from our several personal conversations over lunch, I can tell that he has a sincere desire to serve his clients.  He has shared with me examples of how on many occasions he has gone the extra mile for his short sale clients, far above what the majority of agents do. Matthew focuses on negotiating a full release of liability in most cases when the banks are refusing to forgive the client of the balance.  He put their protection ahead of his personal desire to close a transaction, which can’t be said for most agents and is the main reason why the State of CA passed SB458, which amended CA law to protect homeowners from less educated real estate agents that would not fight for the seller to be forgiven from the deficiency balance after doing a short sale.

Matthew has also attended our further training courses, including our California State approved Continuing Education course which was taught by our course instructor of the time, Lee Honish.  Lee is a former bank asset manager and short sale negotiator who has worked for banks such as GMAC and IndyMac Bank and shares insight on how the banks work and what they do to convince the sellers to accept terms that benefit the banks and hurt the seller and further, Lee helps agents know how to negotiate against out of these unfair terms.

Sincerely,

Trent Chapman, Founder

To Whom It May Concern:

I would like to clarify a relationship which I have with Matthew Stewart, Realtor, and comment on Matthew’s character.

I have known Matthew since 2006, when we met through our church at a Bible Study on financial concepts. I was immediately impressed with Matthew, both on a personal and a professional level. I could tell immediately that he was a very capable businessman, and a man of high ethics and integrity. Matthew was learning how to apply Biblical principles of money both to his personal life, as well as into his business.

In 2007 through 2009 I was able to put even more faith and trust in Matthew on a professional level. During this time period I was privileged to have some estate work which included some real estate which needed to be liquidated. I employed Matthew as my Realtor to sell the properties, and over the course of these two years Matthew assisted me with two (2) property sales, all of which were handled professionally and expeditiously, and I believe Matthew was
able to obtain the highest possible price in the shortest possible time for these two properties. In addition, Matthew also referred to a specialist on a third property for which he was unable to provide his services. I would work with Matthew again in a moment on additional property sales such as these.

In 2010 we found ourselves in a bit of bind with investment properties which my wife and I co-owned with her family members, and as well had to take action on our own personal residence. Once again, I turned to Matthew Stewart for his advice and counsel. He provided an excellent referral to a Realtor in the state where we owned our investment properties, and that Realtor turned out to be a tremendous asset to us in the sale of those two (2) properties. Matthew
himself handled the short sale of our personal residence here in California, and he was a tremendously effective negotiator and advocate for us in that sale process. Had it not been for Matthew, I am certain that we would have lost our home to foreclosure.

During the short sale of our personal residence, at the time when we listed the property with Matthew, he explained to us in detail how his services worked, how he was compensated, and who all the different players were who would get paid through the process of selling our home. I was in full agreement with Matthew’s process, and I would do it again without hesitation. I
have known several people who have been embroiled in long bitter battles over short sales, and who even lost their homes and the sales to inexperienced, ineffective agents. Matthew is a true professional in every sense of the word, and I am certain that his compensation was more than earned through the process of negotiating the short sale. I would have authorized his commission twice over for the services he provided.

All-in-all, over the 6 years that I have known Matthew, I have always found him to be tremendously forthright and ethical, and I have been very pleased with his services rendered, as well as his personal friendship. Going forward I would choose Matthew to represent me in any real estate transaction, even though I have many friends who are Realtors. I believe Matthew is a true professional, an excellent Realtor, and a man of the highest integrity.

Sincerely,

Richard Finn
